Search Engine Optimisation
SEO is name for a range of techniques used to push web sites up the Google Search rankings so that customers can find your web site easier.
It is a relatively cheap and easy way to promote your business online.
Why should I use it?
More and more, people are searching for local businesses and services online. If you are finding that your phone isn't ringing as much as it used to, it could be time to look at your web site and see where it's coming in the search results for search phrases that customers may use. For example, if you are an electrician based in Norwich, you would probably want your web site to appear in the top results for a phrase like 'electrician in Norwich'. If your site isn't in the top results, customers will be going to your competitors.
How does it work?
SEO is a complicated beast to understand and because each business and web site is different, there are no hard and fast rules that apply. That's why you will find lots of tips about search engine optimisation on the internet but you will not find a comprehensive step-by-step guide that you can just work through. A lot of the work is trial and error, depending on your circumstances.
We have years of experience pushing sites up the search engine rankings.
SEO works but applying lots of little changes, over time, that Google and the other search engines will see. When you site is reindexed (looked at) by the search engines, these changes will be noticed and will affect where your site is ranked next time someone searches for you.
How long does it take?
That's a good question but a difficult one to answer. Again, each site, business and area are different. If you are the only electrician in your town, we will be able to get you to the top of the rankings in a very short space of time, perhaps just a few weeks.
If you have lots of competitors in your area, it may take a bit longer.
